The olden days
Back in 2001, I worked on what was then called BBC News Online – just four years after BBC News launched its very first website. Those were heady days, when we experimented with audio and eventually some video.

But since hardly anyone had broadband, only dial-up connections, there were major limitations to what we could put on the site. This is what the website looked like in early 2001. Note the narrow margins (computer screens and TVs were mostly 4:3 format), and of course no links to social media – which were yet to be invented! Happy days.

Lost and found
Much of my early work for the BBC, NRK and others no longer exists online. But Deutsche Welle has an excellent archive you can trawl through. Just type Bevanger in the search field, and most of my radio and online pieces will come up.
