As the fight to stop Ebola intensifies, the British government has given its backing to proposed new legislation aimed at making it easier to treat patients with unlicensed medication. The Medical Innovation Bill would protect doctors from litigation, which supporters say could lead to far more innovation and speed up the discovery of new treatments of diseases like cancer — and Ebola.
