There are some eight million undocumented immigrants in Europe today. They’ve all been denied permits to stay, and many live in hiding from the authorities who try to throw them out. Some stay in a country for years without papers – and without papers they have no rights and no way of providing for themselves in a legal way. One such immigrant in Norway last year published a book about her experience, and as a result blew her cover and was put on a plane back to her native Russia. Now she’s back in Oslo on a work permit, and I met her there for this report on Deutsche Welle’s World Link:
