The most prestigious award, but what about the Committee?
It’s been a week of Nobel prize announcements – from Literature to Chemistry – but perhaps the most prestigious of all is the Nobel Peace Prize, awarded every year in the Norwegian capital Oslo. It’s usually a cause for celebration, but now questions are being asked about how the members of Norwegian Nobel Committee themselves are selected. Some even accuse them of lacking expertise and say they undermine the very spirit of Alfred Nobel’s dying wish. Here is my report from Oslo for Inside Europe on Deutsche Welle Radio:
