Those were heady days, when we experimented with audio and eventually some video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/search?q=Bevanger&amp;d=search_ps&amp;page=1&amp;experiments=newswb_search21_entity_recognition%3Afalse\">See more of my stories on BBC News&#8217; website here<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But since hardly anyone had broadband, only dial-up connections, there were major limitations to what we could put on the site. This is what the website looked like in early 2001. Note the narrow margins (computer screens and TVs were mostly 4:3 format), and of course no links to social media \u2013&nbsp;which were yet to be invented! But Deutsche Welle has an excellent archive you can trawl through.
